ABOUT OUR TRIP PLANNER
Please don't use the "Back" button in your browser while you are in our TripPlanner. If you use the "Back" button, you will have to start over.
If you have trouble reading the text in this TripPlanner, if it takes too long to load on your Internet connection, or if you prefer to use a text browser or screen reader, click the link at the top of the page to switch to our "classic" text TripPlanner. (If you switch in the middle of planning a trip, you will have to start over.)
Our TripPlanner is for multi-stop international trips with at least 4 places (including your starting and ending cities) in your route. For trips with fewer stops, please call or email us or use our one-way and round-trip pricing tool.
CHOOSING DESTINATIONS FROM THE MAP OR CITY MENU
You can add places to your route in 4 ways. Use whichever you prefer. You can enter some places in your route one way, and some another.
(1) Click a city on the map, and then chose "Add To Route" from the menu that will pop up on the city. You can zoom in on the map by clicking the plus (+) above the map, and zoom out by clicking the minus (-). More cities are shown when you zoom in. You can scroll the map north, south, east, or west by clicking the tabs at the edges of the map.
(2) If you know the name of the city or the three-letter city code ("NYC", "LON", "TYO") or airport code ("JFK", "LHR", "NRT"), you can type it in the box below the map, and then click "Add To Route". If a matching name or code is found, that city will be added to your route.
(3) Click first a region, then a country, then finally a city or airport from the City Menu below the map. The same cities are listed in the City Menu as are shown on the map when you zoom in as far as possible. If a country isn't listed, that means there are no cities in that country in the City Menu. We can probably still get you there, but you will have to pick an alternate city for your initial estimate, as described in the next paragraph. (We regret that because we operate in the USA, we are not allowed to assist in any way with tourist travel to Cuba, even if you are not a citizen of the USA.)
(4) Our TripPlanner includes hundreds of destinations, but we can get you to thousands of other places. If the place you want to fly to isn't listed, click on "Can't Find A City?", and pick the closest city in the menu closest to your desired destination for an approximate price estimate. Next, enter your actual desired city or destination in the "Desired City" box below the menu. Finally, click on "Add to Route". Your estimate will be based on the place from the menu, but your actual desired destination will be recorded in the "Details" and sent to us when you submit your request for more information and reservations.
Be sure to include the place you want to start from, and the place you want to end in (you don't have to end your trip back in the same place you start from), as well as all the places you want to fly to in between.Once you select each city, it will show up in the route list on the right.
CHANGING YOUR ROUTE OR ADDING DETAILS
Once you have added cities to your route, you can rearrange your route at any time by clicking on the city in the route list and then clicking the "up" and "down" icons just above the route list.
If you want to travel overland or by other means (a cruise, other tickets you have arranged separately, etc.) between two cities, rather than by air, add both cities to your route, then click on "Leave by: Overland" next to the first city.
If you click on "Login To Account" and register, you can save, recall, and modify the routes you are considering, to play with alternatives.
You can reverse the sequence of the entire route by clicking on the "Reverse Route" button. This is most useful AFTER you have registered and saved a route, if you want to see how prices compare if you follow the same route but in the opposite direction.
You can click on "Details" next to any place in your route to add information about your travel dates, priorities, and anything else you want us to know about your plans for that leg of your journey. These details will NOT affect your online estimate, which is always based on travel on the least expensive dates and flights, and purchase of tickets at least 1 month before your departure. But anything you enter in the "Details" will be sent to our consultants when you submit your request, to assist us in optimizing your trip.
If you want start over from scratch, click the "Clear Route" button. Everything you have entered (except routes you have completed and saved) will be deleted. Using the "Back" or "Reload" buttons in your browser will have the same effect, so don't do that unless you are really ready to start all over.
GETTING PRICE ESTIMATES
When your route is complete, press "Get Prices" to get instant price estimates. Then, if you like one of the choices shown, you can submit your route to one of our travel consultants. Or you can revise your route, and get new estimates, as many times as you like.
Play with different routes and choices on the TripPlanner as much as you like. That's what it's for!
REQUESTING MORE INFORMATION AND RESERVATIONS
Once you have an estimate you like, and are ready to have one of our consultants start working with you on your trip plans, click on "Request More Info" and complete the form to submit your request. One of our expert travel consultants will contact you to finalize your plans, price, and reservations.
It's easier for us to assist you if you send us your full details through the TripPlanner. But if you prefer, if you are having difficulty with the TripPlanner, or if you are in a rush, please feel free to telephone or email us instead of submitting your request through the TripPlanner.
